What we write about, and why
Blame the Fare exists because airfare is priced by software that reprices thousands of routes a minute, and almost nobody is watching. These guides are the part of that job you can do yourself: knowing when a fare is unusual, what makes it unusual, and how long you have to decide.
We write with numbers attached and link to the primary source every time, including when the sources disagree with each other. Airfare research is genuinely contradictory — different studies measure searched prices, booked prices and historical fare data, and they produce different answers to the same question. Saying so is more useful than picking one and pretending it settles it.
Nothing here is gated. If a guide saves you $300 and you never sign up, that is a fine outcome.
